Optimization of Holographic Polymer Dispersed Liquid Crystals Using Siloxane-containing Materials
Optimization of performance of holographic gratings was investigated by changing the chemical structures of photopolymerizable monomers, the LC content, and recording beam intensity, which strongly related to the control of kinetics of polymerization and phase separation of LCs. High diffraction efficiency was obtained using 3-acryloxypropyltrimethoxysilane (APTMS) and 2-[(3,4-epoxycyclohexyl)e...
متن کاملCharacterization of PDLC Holographic Gratings
We have studied the optical properties of electrically switched holographic gratings fabricated using polymer-dispersed liquid crystal (PDLC) materials. We have found that the PDLC mixture can be used to control the diffractive properties of the composite gratings, including the anisotropy of the grating. 2000 Optical Society of America OCIS codes: (050.0050) Diffraction and gratings, (050.733...
متن کاملUnidirectional transmission in non-symmetric gratings containing metallic layers.
The mechanism of achieving unidirectional transmission in the gratings, which only contain isotropic dielectric and metallic layers, is suggested and numerically validated. It is shown that significant transmission in one direction and nearly zero transmission in the opposite direction can be obtained in the same intrinsically isotropic gratings as those studied recently in A. E. Serebryannikov...
متن کاملA novel tunable diode laser using volume holographic gratings
We have developed a self-aligned external cavity laser with a non-dispersive volume holographic grating (VHG) as the output coupler. The resulting external cavity is tunable by rotating the VHG. We have demonstrated tunable single mode longitudinal operation at 405 nm and 785 nm wavelength. The passive alignment of the novel tunable laser is the main driver for achieving low cost manufacturing....
